Selena Gomez is an internationally famous actress and performer. One of the shows that she's worked on with the highest successes has been the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place. Selena Marie Gomez's full name is Selena Marie Gomez. Her birth date was July 22nd, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Her parents are Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. The mother of Selena's, Amanda Cornett, was sixteen years old when Selena was born. She got her first showbiz work at the age of 9 when she played Gianna from Barney and her Friends. Thus, she was one of many children to have played with Barney, the famous character from the anthropomorphic pink dinosaur. Selena was a part of some episodes of season 7 and 8. Her time on the show was from 2001 until 2003. As a fun fact: Selena was not the only actor who appeared in Barney and his Friends during this period; Demi Lovato, too, was a member of the ensemble cast for the show. Selena Gomez left the show to audition for films and television shows, however she didn't have a lot of results. The role she was offered was a minor one in the 2003 film Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) and another like Julie on Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. She also was given the part of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2006 Brain Zapped program for which she wrote her own song.
